*Local install:

cp extract_rpm_kde4.desktop `kde4-config --localprefix`/share/kde4/services/ServiceMenus/

*Global install:
KDE 3.X
cp extract_rpm_kde3.desktop `kde-config --prefix`/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/

Interesting...

I did it a while ago with alien ... but with all supported package formats.


I think its time to include alien into the standart comress-service-menu in kde. In my eyes - this service menu was the best thing in kde=>3.2.x .

I never seen this before - even in commercial apps like ...

I've had reason to extract the lib files from an old glibc rpm every time I upgrade my distribution. I always seem to take two or three tries before I can type the whole command correctly when I do this in terminal. This service menu does the job in one mouse click. Thanks.

Description:
A service menu (manage_package.desktop) for Konqueror that works in conjunction with a bash script (manage_package.sh) to allow several actions on package RPM:

Actions :
-Extract: To extract the contents from package RPM in a new dir and to post in a page HTML information of file RPM.
-About: : Post in a page HTML information of file RPM.
-Research on RpmFind: Seek file RPM on RpmFind.
-Research on RedIris: Seek file RPM on RedIris.
-Go on "Manage package" Home Page
