I think that a button for the plugins install is not necessary.

Something like cooliris would be a gloobus module.

The thing is, cooliris isn't very informative. With coverflow you have a list by default and a list usually has things like name, date modified, type, etc. And gloobus preview is also informative right out of the box. But cooliris isn't. It's just a cool picture previewer.

you are right, but we can make cooliris more informative. It doesn't mean that we implement a copy of the webbrowser cooliris for nautilus, there is the posibility to add extra functions.
imagine:
you selected a file or you hover over an image a single-click(or double click) will flip it 180° around and then you see general meta-information about the picture or film or document...
