touchscreen autodisabler

This is simple daemon-like application that enable/disables touchscreen by tablet pen\'s proximity.

I wrote this for my Tablet PC, which has touchscreen and tablet as separate devices.
I have not tested this on other tablet PC, so I can\'t ensure that it works on other.

This works at least if tablet is Wacom tablet.

Notes on enabling/disabling.

This application doesn\'t disable and enable touchscreen itself, but this grabs touchscreen events so that it doesn\'t reach other applications.
but it grabs without cursor change, cursor might flick on touch.


Clear to enable.

This application provides option to keep touchscreen disabled until touch is cleared. This will let hand rest on tablet for next input even pen is out, so will prevent touch event emitted accidently.

This option can be enabled by -e or --clear-to-enable option.


Single Instance.

This application is designed to be run alone. When this application runs, it makes a pid file on process owner\'s home folder. ( ~/.touchscreen_autodisabler.pid ).
When application exits, this file will be deleted.
However, if the pid file is left, you can remove it manually, or you may leave it, as this will be overwritten next time running and will be deleted at exit.


Print

This application has option to print out its state changes through STDOUT. there is two type of printing available. One is 'human', the other is 'machine'.
'human' prints state change as human-readable message.
'machine' prints state change in 4 characters followed by NL.
This option is intended to be used by parent process, which has intend to monitor this application.

This option can be enabled by -p or --print with print type. (eg. -p human)

Known Bugs

Sometimes, touch start event is detected but somehow. touch end event is not detected. So if application is running with --clear-to-enable option, it does not enable touchscreen back.
When this happens, you can simply exit (or send SIGINT to) touchscreen_autodisabler and run again.
