First of all this statement doesn't even make any sense grammatically. 2nd it's subjective. Why bother posting?

 Unable to install

by talavis on: Sep 25 2007

Score 50%

After the installation, GRUB (and LILO too) refuses to install.

It seems to be pointing at a weird partition (hd3,2), and I only have 0,0; 1,0; 1,1; 1,2 (this is where the installation is). Anyway, it should be installed to MBR (according to settings), so I don't understand why it's trying to install there at all.

The other partitions are used for storage and Kubuntu.

This is obviously a problem on your end. Why would you critique an application based on your own mistakes?

And what is with the rest of the voters that give this product the same score as a needless Amarok theme or a screensaver?

Get your priorities straight you knuckleheads. Do you want Linux development or not?

I'll bet that most of the negative voter think they are on some other distro "team."

...frickin' Linux geeks.

If you install 11.0 and grub refuse to install or was broken after install, then it is bug, open it on bugzilla.novell.com. AFAIK there was some bug about bootloader when too many partitions was involved, so try search button in bugzilla first.

Installed on an age old Aptiva without a problem, A Compaq notebook without a problem. Inside a Suse10.3 Virtualbox, no problem.

I would advise you to get your end right before you start complaining

 Not that impressive

It's pretty unstable in Live mode and slow. Unstable (KDE4) as it seems to kill plasma from time to time, also there's not folder view and the ability to resize the panel isn't there. This seems like a very poor beta release. You can't blame Kde 4 as the current releases of 4 has better stability and far better functionality. I hope people can recognize that and this doesn't corrupt any moral of upcoming 4.1 release. I really wish you guys would have done it right instead of slapping together what worked for you and pushing crap out. A few extra weeks and some real development would have been the difference between something revolutionary and something that's now come to be expected from Suse. Flame away as the truth hurts.

Why there is no KDE3 liveCD?
KDE4 is not mature enough to be a replacement for KDE3.
Though, I'm using it (but with kde3 installed).
