Description:

IKons 0.5 Pro is a hi-color icon theme. This is the professional edition, which means that it doesn't contain all the icons (e.g. the rocket icon isn't included). If you want the full iKons icon theme, you should download iKons 0.5 Home edition.

This release includes 16x16 icons, 22x22 icons, 32x32 icons, 48x48 icons and 64x64 icons for KDE, a KDE icon theme that can be used with the Control Center, as well as a README file that tells you how to install and alter this icon theme.

Changelog:

* Lots of new icons (menu icons, toolbar icons, etc.)
* improved folder icons
* more consistent icons

 Mandrake

It's a "shame" that you have to mix the Mandrake icons with the your excellent iKons. Maybe you should make your mark in history and donate some icons to Mandrake. Especially their "Mandrake Control Center" needs slicker icons, the current ones are horrible.

Anyway, your icons are great!

I find the fact that it's programmed in gtk gnome even much more horrible..

In any way, it ain't pretty. :)

I hope MandrakeSoft hires Kristof Borrey to create their Mandrake icons. That way the guy can make some money on his nice ikons as well.

Mandrake people, are you listening? :)

 you got trolled

To the author:

Nice set of icons, but the jackass who complained about the rocket icon was just trolling you.

There is no need to have two separate versions of your icon set just because a couple people think they look "cartoonish". There are certainly other icon sets they can use if they feel they need something more conservative.

My .02

... the other sets can replace iKons, even if they were more "conservative" as you said. The quality of this set of icons is great, and not comparable to any other. But you have to be a bit more open minded for the benefit of kde. If you want to see KDE running in every desktop (every means > 50% for me), first go for businesses, then universities will get it, and finally every user. But don't pretend to put that rocket on a business desktop man. We are not trolling, just giving opinion, and be sure I've got a very good opinion on these icons! U.

 Business?

You seem awfully concerned about that 'rocket', but as others have said, I _highly_ doubt anyone would be concerned about that in the business world. Businesses are concerned about support, they're concerned about the company (yes, other _businesses_) being there in the next five years. Businesses are concerned about applications (Interleaf, Arbortext, Quicksilver, not just Word...) , and people who know how to use them. In any case, a little red rocket is the *least* of a prospective business user's (who != geek) concerns.

... put my own case. I need to travel often, show what we do... on Linux! I'm not gonna put my little rocket on screen since it doesn't show a corporate image, especially on a projector, that little rocket becomes 20cm! (:P)
Nowadays the image of a company is everything. What do you think M$ does otherwise to sell such crappy things?
Anyway, I don't mind having a rocket as default, as far as I have the chance to change it myself.

 the colors

I think the colors of the icons should be brighter. The color of the tablecloth and surroundings at the dining table affect the appetite of the people who are eating. Brighter colors excite the human spirit.

One of the very first, great looking original icon theme for KDE.

Thought of adding this remark, two years after the last comment had been posted :-)
