guide (manager)

these are some mockups for a content browser, it might be part of "Four Corners" as the manager, http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=34972.

it is NOT meant as a filebrowser, but as some place you do everything but the work you're doing. so you find and view your movie or document or start a app to create or edit a new one here; you find and play your music here, config your system etc.

except for devices, which shows removable storage, you are shielded from any directory structure. your files can be arranged, by date, type, or the person you got them from (tenor...) and you can search. if you use search you search in the categorie you're looking in.

overview gives some kind of kontacts overview, but including (recently added) documents and other frequently used stuff.

First mockup: taskbar and running app. bad and not really important :D

second mockup: what you get when you click guide, and then music. its just amarok, embedded... the easiest way to browse your music, right? click on the usbstick for music on removable storage. it should offer an easy "add to computer (or collection)" button or something like that.

third mockup: video tab. shows actions on icons, and left-bottom there should be info, actions, a search sidebar, whatever...

contacts should give contacts, including on/offline status (like kopete) and an easy way to mail them. messages should show mail, maybe news too. maybe there should be more buttons, and they could slide down like in Outlook, be on the side like amarok or kontact... dunno...
