Description:

Woot, 20,000 downloads! Thanks everyone!

This is a dark theme for KDE4 and QtCurve. See the README for installation details.

The wallpaper in the screenshot can be found here: http://gucken.deviantart.com/art/Starry-Night-146233028

Big thanks to Craig Drummond for QtCurve, which is the foundation of this theme.

Changelog:

==Version 0.6==
- Slightly darker window background
- Slightly brighter selection color
- New Gradient active tab appearance
- Gradient listview header appearance
- Gradient progressbars
- New menubar appearance (inspired by "Easy for Qtcurve")
- Glassy scrollbar groves
- Fixed alternate view background color
- Smaller radio dot
- Rewrote the README

==Version 0.5b==
- Improved widget appearance (higher saturation and brightness, higher contrast borders, modified gradient)
- Darker view background
- Darker scrollbar background
- Darkened default buttons
- Improved selection background
- Brighter progressbars
- Improved menubar/toolbar borders
- Increased widget highlighting on mouse-over for better visibility
- Changed toolbar seperators to sunken lines for better visibility
- Various minor changes and/or side-effects

==Version 0.4==
- New, improved widgets and more colorful widgets and window borders.
- Glassified inactive tabs. There is an issue when using the glassy gradient
for active tabs, so we're keeping them flat-looking for now.
- Various minor changes.

==Version 0.3==
- Compatibility with the latest QtCurve version (tweaked gradients to render properly)
- Roundedness is back
- Improved buttons
- New tab appearance
- Various other tweaks and changes here and there

==Version 0.2==
- Set the checkbox/radio button color to white for visibility.
- Fixed the window decorations. I think they look much nicer this way.
- Replaced the toolbar gradient with a new one that blends better the the window decorations.
- Set "Roundedness" to "Square". This fixes some minor graphical glitches.
- Other lesser tweaks that I can't recall the details of.

==Version 0.1==
- Initial release.

 Plasma Theme

Any possibility that we might see this as a Plasma Theme?

It takes less time to take the time to do it right the first time, than it does to fix it the second time.

I'm afraid Plasma themes are beyond me, but the existing theme "Aya" works fairly well as it adapts to the current color scheme in use.

Hi,

The panel appearance is determined by the Plasma theme. You can change it in the Desktop Settings dialog, which you can access by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting "Desktop Settings". I find that "Aya" works very well for me, though there are several other themes to choose from. :-)

maybe too late... but that's what I've done for panel color:

A) You can try the darkpearl plasma theme with darkpearl for qtcurve, so your plasma looks perfect with it.

B) If don't like that plasma theme, then you can change the appearance of your panel trough system-settings -> advanced usr config -> desktop theme details an modify "panel background" (and whatever you want merging things from various themes), then go to desktop settings and chage your theme to "customized"

I'm not aware of any dark Pearl Plasma theme. I see one called "Dark Air" here on kde-look.org, though. Is that the one you're referring to?

Thanks for the tip regarding customizing the Plasma theme. I'll have to give it a try sometime. :-)

oops! sorry...
There isn't any dark pearl plasma theme... I've make a mistake translating name of theme, I refer to Perla negra (in spanish, Dark pearl in english). That can be found at http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/Perla+Negra+(for+theme+contest)+?content=78253
Maybe old theme, but using it without any problems on all kde4 versions i've used...

 progress bars

hi!
Great work! loving it and using since first version...
I have a "little problem" (at least, not a problem...) on version 0.6.
The diagonal (or not) stripes aren't showed on progress bars (and then, the animation not seen).
Usin Debian Squeeze/sid with kde 4.3.4 and default kwin as window manager...
Any sugestion and/or info that I can do/provide you for that "bug"?
Thanks in advance...

Thanks for the comment.

I purposefully removed the stripes when I revised the appearance of the progressbars. I'm also pretty sure progressbar animations have always been off.

The good news is, here's what you can do to bring them back:

Open the "Configure QtCurve" program (inside Appearance -> Style). Then go to "Custom Shades" at the bottom of the listbox to the left. Change the second textbox value to a value higher or lower than 1.00, depending on how bright/dark you want the stripes to be.

Next, go to "Progressbars" on the listbox to the left, and select "Striped" in the second dropdown box from the top.

Hope that helps. :-)

 Color problems in gtk apps

Hi,
I've some color problems in firefox and dropbox. When you search a site in firefox the background of the search string gets dark red when the string isn't found:
http://imagebin.ca/view/NRpPRYNb.html

In dropbox systray applet there is also some text unreadable:
http://imagebin.ca/view/Gymw7J.html

Until now I haven't figured out where to change these colors. The only thing that would help is to not use the colors in non-KDE4 applications.
