Description:

A better alternative to the xp icon preset in gnomenu.
i will work on the basic later next week.
install using the install option in preferences of gnomenu
*note*
i had found this image on line some amount of time ago (when i was still Microsoft bound) i had it on my flash drive. to my knowledge idk if it is a screen shot done by someone or a costume image.

p.s. my written English is horrid. my spoken English is fine.
i found it. this was made by format-c
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/XP-Panel%2BButton+Glassy?content=84071
i just made it gnomenu compatible.

 GPL?

I don't want to be rude, but did you render that button, or did you just cut it out from a WinXP screenshot? Becouse if it's the latter, the license can't be GPL. (Since the image it uses is not compleatly free.)

i had found this image on line some amount of time ago (when i was still Microsoft bound) i had it on my flash drive. to my knowledge idk if it is a screen shot done by someone or a costume image. i have done a search for it again. and i can not find it. so i put it under gpl till it is 100% confirmed in that statement or otherwise
this will be mentioned in the description!
thanks for bringing that up.

https://launchpad.net/gnomenu/+download
download the one related to you distro.
add it to your panel
right click it and select preferences.
in the button options select install
find the file and select open
now select xp2 in the drop down
exit the window and let gnomenu reload
done!

it is packaged correctly. it works on my ubuntu 9.04, and more recently 9.10 32-bit (bit should have no effect of installation. but if you wish I can repackage it after a test install of this to confirm

as i said, bit version should have no effect. all gnomenu does is take the 3 files and looks for them by name. but i will boot out of xp right now and into my 64 bit ubuntu to test

ok i figured it out. i got the latest from the repositories, added it to the panel, installed the theme. it installed. select XP2. let it reload. it seems to vanish. just log out and back in. it will pop up
on ubuntu 9.10 amd64.
this is becasue it is a junty package on karmic. so there are bound to be issues till gnomenu 2.0 comes out.
