 What!?!?

While one is free to name his theme whatever he likes, I'd like to know what makes this theme "Ubuntu" specific? In fact, what makes this theme different from the literally hundreds of other Emerald themes that have shamelessly ripped off Vista (and look alike,) rather than being new or unique? My points are simple: Ubuntu isn't Linux (there are about 700 different Linux distributions;) nothing in Vista is new or innovative.

Not to argue about the virtues of Linux, (I think we all agree on that, just by being here) but it does seem that Vista graphics are fairly innovative and new, at least for Microsoft.
Many would contend that there is something unique and fresh about Vista graphics, otherwise, why would so many people be downloading them and wanting a Vista Look?

I don't know why someone thinks that freedom has rules.
If our friend wants to share an Emerald Theme and name it Ubuntu-Vista, for me that's no problem.
If I don't like it, I can vote it down and, obviously, refuse to use it.

And yes, Ubuntu isn't unique Linux distro, but it is 100% Linux in spirit and philosophy..... so let's have more respect!

I certainly don't believe freedom has rules. I am merely pointing out that if this submitter wants his theme to proliferate, then he would do better to name it something that doesn't imply that it can only be used on only one of about 700 Linux distributions. Yes, some newbies will think that, trust me. I also pointed out (and I would bet many others will agree) that the vista window decoration has been done to death (I'm guilty too!) But hey, if someone wants to limit himself and Linux by styling it to resemble a cheap knock-off of Microsoft's offering, who am I to judge?

I totally agree with you. I use Ubuntu and love it. More so than Debian. Ubuntu is the most popular distro by far for good reason. I don't understand why so many users think slapping the Ubuntu logo on their work is in the spirit of Ubuntu. Maybe when they get older. get a drivers license, a girlfriend.......
