Is it a SuSE or how did you get the boot messages arranged that way?

It's Gentoo Linux, bootsplash in verbose mode.

So as in SuSE it's the default in Gentoo to have the bootmessages arranged like this? What a pity - so I probably won't get an answer how I can do this on my Debian.

Well, I never had Debian, so I don't know how to make it look like Gentoo:-)
But you could try 2 things:
- ask it in Debian forum
- ask it in Gentoo forum (this one is better IMHO)

You need to compile youre kernel with fbsplash or bootsplash support and replace Usplash. There is a nice HowTo on ubuntuforums.org. just search for "fbsplash" and there should be a few threads on how to do it. Cant give you a direct link because im having trouble accessing the forum...my internet connection is Slow.

Hope this Helps!

What's Usplash?

My kernel was compiled with bootsplash support - but what does the splash screen have to do with the appearance of the boot messages?
