Description:

I\'m not sure if this is in the right place, but I think that this would be a good idea for rhythmbox. I went to the rhythmbox site and found no way to ask if this is possible. If anyone knows how to do this, please tell me.

I use an acer aspire one, and I am very much a space hog. I\'ve looked at the rhythmbox gui file and can find no way to do this.
I want to place the now playing bar on the toolbar, like in the second screenshot.

if it is possible but even if it is Rhythmbox uses that panel to display additional buttons depending on the context(add and update podcasts on the podcast section, create audio cd on playlists, download and donate on jamendo, buy download or cd on magnatunes, etc) which would mean the seek slider would be changing length every time you changed section and IMO that would make the ui look less consistent

Your right. But i use a very small computer. It would be much easier to deal with a slider that changes size a lot, if i could have more space in the window. :)

If Windows crashes in the woods and nobody sees it. Does Microsoft still ignore it?

Or you could use a smaller slider of fixed size, leaving space for extra contextual buttons to show up. Most other players have much smaller progress sliders anyway.

Excellent idea. I wish I could figure out how to send these screenshots to the rhythmbox development team.

One day, no one will ever have to worry about viruses again. Let me know when Windows no longer exists.

I like compact themes and Rhythmbox does not use space very well . It would be nice to make it more compact .
