I look at him. But I don't see the reasons why DE must have its own browser. Why not use the popular FireFox or Chromium.

Well, why not? It's Qt based, lightweight and fast. And if one want a full desktop experience, he/she will need a web browser that fits in the particular DE. Anyway, it's just a proposal...

Quite right - but I see Qupzilla as a part of the Qt family, not specifically the RQt or even the Qt-Desktop family. Since QupZilla is Qt based and light weight - it actually fits RQt quite well.

 Ambience Theme

Very nice DE. I've installed it along unity and it is a great alternative. I'm using it with metacity and it works really well. Only problem is that at startup it gives me an error can't set "Ctrl+Alt+D" shortcut (metacity uses it).

I have created an ambience theme for razor-qt and you can find it here: http://jonian.deviantart.com/art/Ambiencefor-Razor-Qt-DE-275682915

I live in your theme on this days, it's really good.
I made a few small changes:
1. We can't use the logo of Ubuntu, copyrights, trademarks, and so on. I made a button with our logo (QSS colors + svg file). Maybe you can better, I'm not an artist.
2. I added a theme for the main menu.
3. I changed the background image on the gradient, the appearance has not changed, but a little faster.

What you think?

It looks very nice!

Do you want me to make a radience theme too, so you can include them both in the package, or create a razor-panel-themes package?

Also I'm willing to help in any graphic needs the project has. I'm a graphic designer and web designer. Check out my page hardpixel.net. It's in greek but you can see the portfolio...

>It looks very nice!
The main work you did, I've done quite a bit.

>Do you want me to make a radience theme too
Would be great.

>so you can include them both in the package, or create a razor-panel-themes package?
It would be better to add them to the main package. I'll do it.

>Also I'm willing to help in any graphic needs the project has.
Our site isn't perfect. For netbook needs light and laconic theme. Wallpapers. Any GUI improvements and mockups.

>Check out my page hardpixel.net.
Portfolio looks fantastic. I particularly liked the http://www.pcgear.gr

Theme looks great. Send me the theme files.

"Ctrl+Alt+D" was captured in showdesktop plugin. This shortcut should be configured, could you open a issue on https://github.com/Razor-qt/razor-qt/issues. Until this is done, you can disable this plugin.

Thanks again for your interest to the project. And I am waiting your theme.

It's our fault. Eugene promised to build packages for Mandriva, thanks to Eugene. But we have a small number of Mandriva testers, so there may be some problems with dependences, any feedback are welcome.
Which version of Mandriva are you are using?

Actually, it's PCLinuxOS. Mandriva is the closest match. Suse or Fedora packages usually aren't close enough.

Eugene started to build, over time the package must be available.

Hey, guys. Just wanted to say that one of the PCLinuxOS packagers has ported the razor-qt packages to our repository. Tell Eugene that unless someone else is wanting it for Mandriva or Mageia, I'm happy the way things are.

Keep up the good work!

 Options to shut down/restart/suspend?

by pejakm on: Jan 2 2012

How come I don't have any of these? Only logout. Am I missing a dependency or something?

My .xinitrc contains only this:

Quote:
exec startrazor

And is there a way to set up keyboard repeat speed, etc?

 clock, icons, menu

by janet on: Sep 4 2012

Score 50%

This DE is a nice alternative for KDE, thanks.

Some questions though:
(How) Is it possible to theme the clock widget?
(How) Is it possible to enlarge the size of the desktop and panel icons? I can enlarge the panel but the icons in it stay tiny.

Is there a weather widget like e.g. CWP (Plasma)?
And a picture frame?
Does the desktop/panel support QML-Widgets?

The menu button allows to add some text - alas there doesn't seem to be enough space for it. When I choose text the menu button is only half visible and so is the text. Or does it need some extra tweaking in some configuration file to widen the space?

The desktop context menu and the menu via the menu button should be the same in look and content IMHO? Where the look of the context menu is the prefered (wider, better visible, Qt theme by default).
