Description:

Hi. I can\'t find time to realize my ideas so I will share it here in hope that someone will take care about it.

I miss the panel from KDE 3.5.x which You can set to show up by pointing for example the screen\'s corner instead of the whole panel\'s area. Since the events in KDE4 for screen\'s corners are different, I came up with another idea which is simply a possibility of setting an area which activates the panel just the way like setting its size.
Details on the screen.

tęsknię za panelem z KDE 3.5.x gdzie można było ustawić aby panel pokazywal sie po najechaniu np w róg ekranu a nie na całym obszarze panelu. Ponieważ w KDE4 zdarzenia dla rogow ekranu są
inne wpadłem na inny pomysł czyli po prostu aby obszar aktywujący panel dalo się ustawić podobnie jak jego rozmiar. Szczegóły na obrazku.

Plasma's panel can be set to auto-hide mode: in KDE 4.5 it's in the extended panel settings menu. I think it gives what you miss from KDE 3.5. Or maybe I haven't understood your proposal.

Your idea also states that the region which activates the panel is different from the region where the panel is. While I love KDE for the immense amount of settings which it provides, I found this particular one rather unintuitive, but that's only my lame opinion :)

Anyway, keep coming with more proposals - it is always beneficial for KDE to have new fresh features.

Of course I know about auto-hide panel my idea is only a litle modification of it.

That's the point of my idea! some times panel is too big and it shows itself when we point the mouse accidentally on the screen border wanting point sth else. eg. when the panel is on top-right corner of screen and We want to close the window if we miss the cross button and 'touch' the panel area the panel will unhide and cover the button we wanted to click.

Now it's more clear?
