Optixity; A compact widget used for fast access to programs. Optixity allows you to run a program easily without any more searching through folders. Shortcuts to programs such as; Firefox, Kcalc, skype, and many others.

Installation:
Open Kosole.
tar -jxvf file-name-here.tar.bz2
View README.txt and then execute Optixity.kmdr

Great question, Optixity allows you to have the apps in the program rather than having to add them to the kicker bar or making a short cut, It simply organizes the programs into a small compact box that you can move around the screen as needed So you can keep it on top of all other programs without having to minimize your windows, and go to the desktop. As for the kicker or the quick launch bar, sometimes it gets crowded so this applications also is good for un cluttering both your desktop and the kicker. :)

Why should get a panel or desktop crowded?? You're using a KDE! :-)
You can customize your desktop in more convenient way than the stupid "Windows" way it is still used. I.e. I have logically separated panel with applets, menus and links from a list of desktops and taskbar (as those two belongs logicaly together and require a lot of space). I have this at the top of the screen, while the original panel is at the bottom with all the kicker apps I need, often used links and menus with less used programs. Yes menuS - I have "Multimedia" menu with multimedia programs, "Graphics", "System", "Office" Pall with links to apps) and "Contacts" (a direct list of KAdressbook contacts). How on earth this could get crowded? It can't, it's well organized. There are uncountable ways to customize KDE desktop apart from mine, just choose one. Unchain yourself from "Windows" thinking. :-D
