 bug?

hi boy!

I tried your inventory software and I would like to ask you something and in the same time provide you feedbacks..

First of all, what's the meaning of rooms? They are place where I can store items, aren't them? When i try to change the name of a romom, it remains the same, can't understand why..

Second, when i save the file MyInventory goes in segmentation fault.. this is the terminal output..

did you understand something? To me, it seems that it try to save in YOUR home directory!, or, anyway in this one: /home/konne, as you can read in the first lines..

can you solve it?
see ya, hope to hear news as soon as possible
(you know I did a slackware txz package to upload in slacky.eu for all the slackware community, but now I don't think it's possible distribute a program so bugged)

hi guy!

Thank you very much for your testing. I released a new debian package that fixed the issues you reported. (I wasn't able to upload the source yet, since github seems to have some issues right now)

1) All items that you create in your inventory, like a computer etc, can be placed somewhere. Since most people live in houses with rooms, you can set the location of an object to be a room.

2) Renaming works great over here. Are you sure you do it in the right place? You should do it in the Items and not in the Locations tab.

3) You were right it was trying to save it to my home directory. This problem should now be solved.

4) I'm sorry, the application is indeed still relatively unstable especially on other people's platforms, since it is hard for me to test those. But I'm very happy to help if problems arrise or someone finds a bug.

5) Added a desktop file so it is now easy to start even without using the commandline

What stacktrace are you getting? If you still get the old one check to see if you have the right permissions in your home directory.

Source is available from https://github.com/konne88/MyInventory. There is no 64bit version yet because i'm using gtk# libraries that i checked out from truck and that are not in a debian package yet (or released). I thus ship with the compiled libraries and they are 32bit only. I'm not sure if gtk# had a new release lately but it seems like they have rather long release cicles. I know it sucks that it is bound to the processor (especially since it is an interpreted language). If you have any more questions just ask, but you may need to be patient cause i can only go online at mac donals right now.
