Description:

Do you have many MP3 files? Do you spend more time organizing them then listening to them? Do you store them on CDs? Do you have a car stereo MP3 player?

If so, MusicMan will help you massivelly tag and organize your MP3, Ogg, from the most obvious place: Konqueror file manager.

MusicMan is a Konqueror plugin that lets you:

- Organize your music collection to create a CD.
- Create nice CD cover, as an OpenOffice.org or KWord document, with full listing of your music files. 100% configurable thru templates.
- Create HTML, Text and SQL indexes (beside the OpenOffice one) of your collections, including total playing time etc. 100% configurable thru templates.
- Standarize the filenames of your music files
- Guess info and set ID3 tags from the file's name. Can be done to several files in one shot
- Rename many selected files based on their ID3 tags
- Set ID3 tags in mass for the selected files, with options from copying ID3s from other files, and leaving some ID3 fields untouched.
- Rename _ to space and vice-versa.

Changelog:

Smarter HTML and OpenOffice templates. Tested with KDE 3.4.

 id3v2 support

 by oz81dog on: Apr 12 2004

First off, I want to say that musicman is exactly what i've been looking for to deal with new music, and since i started using it i haven't had a single problem with it. i am however having trouble with kde and getting it to recognize id3v2 tags and I was wondering if anyone here might be able to point me in the right direction.

My trouble is that id3v2 tags don't display in konqueror, amarok, musicman, or basically anywhere that they should appear in kde, but they do show up in xmms. Id3v1 tags work fine.

I'm am running mandrake cooker and no one on the cooker mailing list seems that interested in this unfortunately. I'm beginning to think that maybe mandrake has not packaged everything that is compiled with kde 3.2, and i was wondering if anyone knew the name of the associated shared libraries so i can start looking at their rpm spec files. thanks for any help!

Well, id3v2 is working fine in my Fedora Core 1 with KDE 3.2 RPMs from kde-redhat project.

This subject is very sensitive, since it depends on how and who compiled KDE packages, and weather or not they have TagLib dependencies. They must depend on TagLib.

 error with kcm

Has anyone else been running into this message when trying to run the control center module,

There was an error loading the module.
The diagnostics is:
KLibrary: /opt/kde3/lib/kde3/libkcm_musicman.so.0: undefined symbol: create_musicman

This is happening when using the suse 9.1 rpm, and when i compile it from source, and happens in mandrake cooker and slackware 10....

seriously though, this is still happening.

Is this just me? It's now happening in Suse 9.2 with KDE 3.4.

I have exactly the same problem running SuSE 9.3 and KDE 3.4.1. It seems to be a general problem.

 kcm libmusicman err

I run SuSE 9.3 KDE 3.4.1 and compiled musicman from source.

When I run:

kcmshell musicman

from konsole I get error dialog that says: "The specified library libmusicman could not be found." and more: "The diagnostics is: Library files for 'kcm_libmusicman.la' not found in paths"

Any hint?

Jozef
