Most of the downloads for the Action proxy have been on the home site and since it does so much on the initial release it hasn't gotten much air time here. I suspect most people who might be interested simply don't understand what it is, so here goes...
Kommander on KDE3 has used a very early Qt Designer editor. As such we were never able to get the MainWindow to work as a Kommander widget. However Kommander can run a MainWindow from Designer, it is just limited to signals from the window to Kommander widgets. This means it's able to present a working program, but when you start using it you come up against a number of irritating limitations.
The Action Proxy makes the MainWindow act like a Kommander widget. That means control of actions, toolbars and statusbar. Using the Action proxy you can now do most of what is available to QMainWindow and children. It makes developing MainWindow applications enjoyable. This demo is intended to make those benefits more clear and tangible by showing in action some of what Kommander and the Action Proxy can do.
