Version Control:  Link
Downloads:  27
Submitted:  May 18 2013
Updated:  Jul 18 2013

Description:

WikiSentinel is a plasmoid that aims to help a bit the translators of the KDE wiki UserBase (http://userbase.kde.org/Welcome_to_KDE_UserBase) and TechBase (http://techbase.kde.org/Welcome_to_KDE_TechBase).

It's a some sort of specialized feed reader that collects the translated pages that need to be updated. No need to check the Recent changes page or the Language statistics page or to handle the notification email flood...

It's possible to see a preview of the changes in the selected page and open it directly in the web browser: ready to translate.

It's a beta.
It should be already usable, but not finished. Extensive testing is needed.
Don't use more that one WikiSentinel plasmoid.

Installation howto: http://userbase.kde.org/Plasma/Installing_Plasmoids

Todo: see Version Control link above.

Do you know you can help the KDE community translating the wikis? It\'s important just like translating the interfaces and the manuals(actually many of them are written on UserBase itself). Check http://userbase.kde.org/Translate_a_Page#Workflow.

Comments are welcome.

Changelog:

20130718:
- added notifications configuration option
- view in browser just the strings that need to be updated
- avoid duplicated items in notification

20130518:
- first public release

 Really interesting

Galician translations are far from 100%, so I won’t be needing this plasmoid for a long time, but I have to say that it’s a really interesting one, and one I will look for in the future without a doubt. Great work!

Thank you! Glad you find it interesting, I hope it will be useful for your work.
"Far from 100%"? Uhm, I think only ‎Claus chr and Yurchor reached that target, but, I'm rather sure, they aren't human beings :D

Heyyy, what d'you mean, not human. When someone touches my front panel do I not give off an electric discharge; when my plug is pulled do I not go blank - just like everybody else?

Anyway, this looks interesting. I downloaded it, but how do I install the thing?

Hi! :D
Oh, right, I forgot to add the link to the installation howto: http://userbase.kde.org/Plasma/Installing_Plasmoids
Thank you!
