Great ftp client, unfortunately, it hoses my systray. This can't happen. Hopefully, someone picks up development of kbear otherwise, it was a waste to have even written it in the first place.

As I visited the projectpage at sf.net I noticed that there is also a version 1 and even a version 2...but there cannot be the 1.0, because even this version is buggy.
The idea of kbear is great, the builtin scintilla component is usable and the sitemanager is great, but kbear crashes too often...and of course it lengthens the systray...and I often don't know if a file was successfully uploaded or not...it keeps the information...but I want to know...

I think Kbear shoud be called "Kbear 0.1 alpha" and it would be ok for me, but 1.0 or even 2.0 ? Did sou see, there is also a beta :)...
Sad, but I thought kbear would be the greatest gui-ftp-lient for KDE, but that was not the case after some tests.

@author: downgrade the version numbers and call it beta or alpha or something else. In fact it cannot be stable, because most sourcecodes of kbear don't compile on the latest slackware. I needed to pick a package from linuxpackages.net....:/

Hi there... I was really excited about this when I saw it. However, when I gave it a try I was fairly dissatisfied. First of all, it hosed my systray... and then, when I go to try and actually connect to my ftp site, it just sits there working away, but never actually displays the folders or anything. I really hope these problems can be sorted out because like I said, I like the concept... By the way, does anybody know of a way to make my systray normal again without rebooting?

Yeah, just close all kbear related apps, remove systray and slide around the icons a bit until it returns to normal then add systray back.

 How strange.

KBear connects to a server perfectly and lists the files - there's nothing wrong with that bit. However, the quick connect window won't disappear after the connection is made and I can't do any file transfers or file manipulation of any kind. The only way I could close it was to logout and login again.
