What kind of circuit is that? A high-voltage heater?

Probably a conservative estimate.

That particular circuit is part of an air cooled HV power supply to a 60KW Television transmitter.

It's amazing what a little dust can do.

Proof positive that filters on the air INTAKE of electronic equipment is important, and that the changing of those filters regularly is necessary.

I do take lots of photos of odd and interesting things in my line of work.
