Description:

Flo is a multi-platform mind mapping program. I have been interested in mind mapping for some years and have written an application that can help express mindmaps and translate them into various document formats. Mind mapping for those of you who don't know about it is a way of brainstorming. One of the main ideas of Flo is to take these brainstorms and create outlines and various documents. Mind maps can be used for everything from project planning to designing software test cases. Pretty much anything that can be expressed in an outline can translate into a mind map quite painlessly. The main advantage of a mind map is that it is easier to reorder and reorganize ideas in a visual fashion before applying them to something more rigid like an outline.

Changelog:

This is the initial Beta release. Kick it around and see how it works.

This is need for porting to ARM device, maybe. )

i could remove the spellchecking by removing hunspell, but i would remove what i consider an important feature. there is an internal copy of hunspell though in case you dont want to include it.

 KDissert / Semantik & ConTeXt

How does/will Flo compare to KDissert/Semantik?

Also, how hard would it be to write an exporter for ConTeXt documents?

KDissert and Semantik are mindmapping tools for KDE3 and KDE4 respectively.

ConTeXt is a macrolanguage for TeX, which is more modern and elastic then LaTeX (it also has native Unicode support, for starters).

If you don't mind, I used a stripped down version of Flo (I call it MiniFlo) in TextRoom. If you'd like to check out, it's here:

http://code.google.com/p/textroom

MiniFlo is in the Extended Version.

Thanks for this gem.
