 doesn't work

-Simply adding the OSX-font(sfns display) in the CSS-file will not work unless the actual font is already installed on the guest-system.

- Note that this is just a shell-theme that provides the top-bar. It has not the resemblance nor the functionality of the actual OSX-topbar on OSX.

As such it will only work within the 3.18 gnome-desktop-environment.

Hi ManjaroCinnamonFan

Thanks for your input negative or positive, as a new contributer to the open source community I felt it was time to take things I like from the themes I use and modify them in a way which suited me, then redistribute them to the community and hope they like my style/version of the themes I use.

Which brings me on to my next point regarding open source and why any of us do it, as you have Ive taken a theme and tried to improve upon it by adding design elements which I think enhance the original theme, just as you've done, and id like to bring to your attention to the GPL

“ Developers that use the GNU GPL protect your rights with two steps:
(1) assert copyright on the software, and (2) offer you this License
giving you legal permission to copy, distribute and/or modify it. “

regarding the osx fonts and top panel osx bar these two things are meant to resemble not imitate as this would be a clear violation of copyright law, as for the fonts they have been added to the css code for any who chooses to add them to there system.

I would finally like to bring to your attention as to why we do it and I think you will agree its because we want to improve open source software and enhance the open community to the best of our ability and I think this collaborative mentality would not just go far in software but in the world in general.

Kind Regards

LinxGem33

No hard feelings.

It is just that you seem to underestimate my contribution. Making it such that the Arc theme has the OSX-buttons is not copy-paste-stuff. I've made the metacity theme (light and dark version), the XFWM4-theme (light and dark version) almost from scratch; adapted the unity-files and graphics; remade and re-rendered the assets-svg's to include the buttons in the headerbars, adapted the SASS of all GTK3-versions, ...

I've spend a great amount of time in trying to understand the inner workings of HORST3180 system of creating the theme. And with that comes my admiration for his work. If you have any idea what it means to make something at that level, you would understand that just mixing files of other themes and giving it another name (although perfectly legal) is a bit disrespectful to the people who have painstakingly contributed to it.

Horst3180 has (and still does) a great favor to the GTK-theming-community by providing his work for free. It stands to reason that the authors of the themes-files you use are mentioned. You did that. So no hard feelings.

But a more substantial contribution to what you provide is what people expect when you put it on gnome-look.org. A themer wants to create something, not repackaging existing stuff. So if you want to earn respect on behalf of the open source community it might help if you create something yourself.

Appreciate the feed back!

Regarding your question about updating the theme to the new gnome 3.20 version hopefully it shouldn’t be to long until the update, I’m currently working out a couple of things regarding the gnome shell just keep checking back.

 Theme breaks stuff. Caution!

Hello.

First of all I wanted to say that this theme looks very nice. It has a distinct OSX feel to it without using the colorful dot buttons that I don't like.

But.

This theme causes weird behaviour in certain programs.
If you plan on using NuvolaPlayer for instance, don't use this theme. Doing so makes WebKit painfully slow to the point where it's unusable. I'd love to help investigate this further, if the creator of the theme desires to do so.

There's a GitHub issue ( https://github.com/tiliado/nuvolaplayer/issues/233 ) and if you could report back there or look into the problem yourself, that would be splendid.

Best regards,
wayneyooktz.

apologies for the late reply I’ve looked into your issue and there should be a complete overhaul and update to this theme in the next couple of weeks which I believe should resolve your issue and also bring the gtk standards up to date as I’ve been busy bringing my other themes up to current gtk standards I’ve only just got around to updating this theme and thank you for bringing this issue to my attention it all helps to refine my themes.

kind regards
