Description:

This uses the escputil program to access Epson printers. I've set it up for newer Epson photo printers as that suits my needs, but it's a Kommander dialog so you can easily edit it for your needs. It does allow you to set up the device using a dialog. I hope you find it useful.

Open a terminal (e.g. konsole)

Install kommander (in Debian/Ubuntu: "apt-get install kommander" without the quotes).

Then, double click on the file 45491-inklevels.kmdr (only if you use kde) or execute "kmdr-executor 45491-inklevels.kmdr" (without the quotes) in a terminal.

 Not working

The Script is not working for me...
Everything is connected and I installed the epsutil. I chose /dev/bus/005blablabla like lsusb told me what bus the printer was on. I am using Epson Stylus Photo R220 but it doesn't seem to be working.

You can run it at the command line. For me it's escputil -u -i -r @global(device) where I have the device from my system. I found it needs the device for the command to work. You also need to be able to write to the device. This is all in my notes and the script is not only editable, there is a button to change devices. If that doesn't work it's a problem with the utility. If there were a problem you could show me with the dialog I'd fix it.
