Description:

Okay, what a difference 4 years can make...

I figured I\'d update my wallpaper contribution with an updated mesh, using updated software. Still rendered with Blender (now version 2.42a) - however the planet is now a mesh as well (instead of using a background image).

The mesh was made originally in LightWave 3D by Dennis Bailey but converted into a Blender3D native file by myself.

As always, feedback is welcomed. Hope folks out there like it.

Beautiful mesh and rendering.

How about a couple from different angles?

I've always thought the Refit Enterprise was the best of the bunch.

That being said, I'm thinking I'll make a few more showing off this mesh. Was there any particular angle you would like?

Simple - they can't be seen due to the high reflectivity of the objects in the frame.

Same reason you don't see stars in the sky from the Apollo Moon missions - to correctly expose the surface, there isn't enought light produced by the stars to be seen above that glaring surface.

If you were to take a picture of a bright light source during broad daylight, the camera will adjust the exposure to compensate for that light source. The resulting image looks like a light source taken at twilight (or even at night, depending on how bright the subject is).

Oh, and ...um... ...because I forget to put them in...

Either way, I thought it looked good.

Well of course it looks good! That's why I voted "good". Next time, how about one in front of the Mutara Nebula ;-)
