I don't get it... KDE IS the default on SuSE. And still will be for 10.1.

And wouldn't something like a piss on KDE normally go on gnome-look?

Oh, he does read the news, but contrary to you he's even able to comprehend them.

So let me say it again: KDE will stay the default on Suse in future versions as novell has made clear about a 100 times now.

Really, where is that announcement? The only diclaim of the original press release that I know of contained a passage in which the Novell spokesperson claimed that KDE will "of course" still be shipped, but not as the default desktop.

It's a nice marketing trick:

- Announce that KDE is no longer shipped as default.
- Wait for the complainers.
- Announce you changed your mind and that you are going to ship KDE still, only not by default.

Of course, it's still no change in policy, but KDE fans applauded the second announcement anyway.

There is no "default" in SUSE 10.0. Setup gives you the option to select KDE or Gnome. F.Y.I., Novell, SUSE, Sun Solaris 10, and Redhat recommend or default to Gnome. Don't get mad at me, that's the way it is. :)
