Description:

Today was unussualy boring evening, so i decided to do some brainstorm :P .
This is how the default gnome IM client should look like. (Because look of Pidgin is Horrible, and look of Empathy is even worse). My inspiration was Jabbim and Miranda.

I like the look of emesene and also Windows Live Messenger. I did not said that Pidgin is bad, I just think it's design is... too simple.

And if there was a lot of plugins like miranda have, it will be fine. But yes, it is not problem of pidgin, but problem of smal number of plugin developers. If i know any serious programing language, i can write some... (or modify the original code of pidgin)

And there is not a central place for pidgin plugins. (As far as i know) I have also idea how that page will look like:

But it's nothing a good theme pack can't fix.

Actually, I'd love a grid contact like in
Synapse

Synapse looks great, but it seems that project is dead more then half a year. (Acording to last testing version and date of forum topics) And it is not working on my 9.10.

I think that the extreme simplicity of Pidgin &co is very userful for many people, but it's also why lost of user of closed OS leave GNOME after a month of use.
There should be an option, a radiobutton in the View menu...
