Description:

This is the Azenis theme for GnoMenu2. As promised it is now released and available.

This is the menu Helder and I used the most for testing.

Okay the tabs on the left hand side from top to bottom are:

Applications
Places
Favorites
Settings
Recent Items
Recent Applications (New GnoMenu2 feature)
Web Bookmarks (New GnoMenu2 feature)
Shutdown / Log Out

Buttons on the right are for:

Search
Synaptic
Terminal
Help
Trash (New Feature for GnoMenu2)

Screenshot 2 shows a new feature in GnoMenu2. It has the the ability to utilize System Icons over the theme Icons and is selectable in preferences. This is the same theme using the selected system Icons (Red Azenis Icons)

Changelog:

Final Design for Azenis2 for use with GnoMenu2

Added screenshot of Azenis2 using new GnoMenu2 Feature

i like the arrangement, but i think the default look should have an unique look, and not be theme specific, however i like the tab arrangement

GnoMenu needs your theme!!! GnoMenu 2.0 is looking for a brand new theme, and it could be yours, send your work to us. https://blueprints.launchpad.net/gnomenu/+spec/new-theme

GnoMenu - Documentatio n Manager

I am not submitting this to be a default look for GnoMenu. However, Azenis is an extremely popular theme here and since I am the one who takes care of the GnoMenu theme for Azenis I wanted to show people what I had in mind.

I did post a layout design at the blueprints and this design is based on that.

GnoMenu - Documentatio n Manager

It is happening. This menu does exist now but will not be released until Nov 15th once Helder releases GnoMenu2. Helder and I are already using this menu to do some testing of GnoMenu2 features. No this will not be the default theme for GnoMenu2 but the layout of the tabs is definitely going to be used.

Put simply this new theme is jaw dropingly good, a really good bit of work and one i feel (maybe im biased) that should be included as a default gnomenu theme. There have definitely been some improvements made in version 2.0 as well!

Thank you, Take a look at the "Gray" theme included in GnoMenu2. That is my work as well and it uses the same layout as Azenis2 but has a very unique visual look to it.

 GnoMenu 2

How do I install GnoMenu2? I don't know how it was in 1.x, but when I do "sudo make install" in the gnomenu folder on my desktop, it sets up the files locally, not within the system, so anyone that says "Well now it's installed, lol!" is total crock.(-odile)

I've right clicked on the bar and GnoMenu doesn't show in "add to panel". Is there a place for me to put those files so it'll work? The only .deb file I could find was for 1.x. =/

When use the command "sudo make install" are you in the gnomenu directory that appears once you unpack the archive?

Yes, I unpacked the archive on the desktop, cd'd into gnomenu, then "sudo make install"'d it.

Hopefully Scott will get 2.0 made into a deb file soon. However GnoMenu should show up in "Add To Panel" list when you right click on the gnome-panel and select that option. Make sure that all dependencies are installed. They are:

python
python-xdg
python-cairo
pygtk
python-pango
python-xml
python-numpy (recomended for gtk theme colors and some tab effects
python gnomeapplet (or in some distros "python gnome desktop") - (necessary when running on gnome-panel or in tray)
python-gconf (or in some distros "python gnome") (recomended)
python-xlib (recomended)
deskbar-applet (recomended)

Ah! I found out what the problem was. I had to switch my shell to Bash. I was using the Perl Shell before, the global scalars in psh aren't recognized the same way as in Bash. Right! It works now and I must say it is an impressive piece of work.
