Description:

Stock gnome 3.2 Adwaita theme, except for the scrollbars (inspired by those seen on OS X Lion), and the deletion of the grip in the bottom right corner of the windows.

Mutter/Metacity theme modified from elementary-borderless-elegance.

Working fine with Gtk3.2, not sure what would happen with gtk 3.0.

PS: If someone could help me (a tip or something) fixing the windowname color in the window decoration for dark themes, It would be awesome ;)

Changelog version 1.1:

Edited the window theme: Actually modified the Adwaita original mutter/metacity theme, dropping the elementary-borderless. Now the titlebar color for dark themes should be fixed. also, less padding than the original one.

Looks nice but is the borders thick enough to grab for resizing? :)

Also is it possible to reduce the button height in Nautilus? Hopefully yes

Hi.

Gnome 3.2 introduced an invisible area for grabbing window borders without actually having to rely on the window border width, so yes: It's easy to grab a window border.

About the button height, actually I'm not very interested in changing it, but I'll give it a try.

but how can I delete the rudimentary border between the left menu and the main window?
Also, how can I flatten the top menubar elements to normal proportions?

i wish i could have a lavender version to go with the lavender shell theme and gnome-noble icon theme.
the theme looks great mate... nice soft and elegant...

Looking good, definitely an improvement (although I think I'm starting to like the default metacity buttons, oh well...)

To fix the window title in dark windows (totem, eog) change

title color="shade/gtk:bg[NORMAL]/0.40"

to

title color="gtk:fg[NORMAL]"

Of course, you can tweak it even further from there but the key is using gtk:fg instead of gtk:bg/something so it becomes light on dark windows. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your tips!

I've tried what you said and yes, it worked, but I couldn't obtain an enough good result. Instead, I've tried successfully to tweak the original Adwaita theme. Now the theme looks better, IMHO

Your theme is great! Simple but elegant.


I've got 3 questions :

*How could i install it in my Gnome-Shell 3.2? It is hard to understand between usr/share/theme, usr/share/gnome-shell/theme, and ~/.themes...

*Do i have to use Gnome Tweak Tool too?

*And in your opinion what icon set fit better with your theme?

Hi.

To install it, simply extract it in ~/.themes

Then you may use gnome-tweak-tool to set the theme, or set it through dconf-editor.

The icon theme is more a matter of taste. I'm using the gnome official theme but I've changed the folder icons to the ones used in gnome-color (brave).
I guess the elementary icon theme would fit well too, for example.

Do i have to extract the whole file, or just the GTK3 one? Once extracted, what have i to do? 'Cause Gnome-Tweak-Tool, even after a refresh of Gnome-Shell, don't propose me any theme like borderless or something like this...Maybe i am making a thing wrong!

the directory tree should be something like this:

/home/$USER/.themes/adwaita-borderless/{gtk2, gtk3, metacity}
