ANewStartBlood is the first attempt to port ANewStart guidelines in a dark fashion. Since the choices done here (this \"bloodiness\" that pervades all the theme) are surely tough to digest, maybe I\'ll plan another more easy-going version.

As its big brother, ANewStartBlood is a complete suite for GNOME. It\'s designed to work happily under Gnome-Shell, Gnome-Fallback and Unity. For Unity and Gnome-Fallback mode, please read the README file inside the pack. There is also a Conky file to meet the theme overall guidelines.

I have installed the shell theme in Ubuntu 11.10 and it works fine .

The GTK theme fails to appear in Advaned Settings after installed in usr/share/themes .

I have made sure the package elements have been fully extracted .

You don't have to move the theme to "/usr/share/themes", just move the theme to "~/.themes"!

So do this and cancell al your previous attempts. Now, in your .themes folder you should have a folder called "ANewStartBlood", and inside it you should have these folders:

gnome-shell gtk-2.0 gtk-3.0 metacity-1 unity

and the file ANewStartBlood.desktop

Now, what do you mean with "Advanced Settings"? Gnome-tweak-tool?

I have tried in both .themes and usr/share/ themes .

The Gnome Tweak = Advanced settings it appears as Advance Settings in applications.

ok let's try something harder. Post the output of:

ls ~/.themes
ls /usr/share/themes
ls ~/.themes/ANewStartBlood
ls /usr/share/themes/ANewStartBlood

The theme now appears in advaced settings , but when selected reverts to the defualt white administrtive theme . The shell theme works though .

Since last time I removed theme and installed in .themes only and as a sinlge user this is no problem .

The required engines were installed prior to installing the theme the first time .
Below is the outpt you requested .

I have plenty of themes so I am in no hurry . The Atolm theme caused the sam problem until the last update and now works fine ?
