Installation instructions for KDE 2.x themes

Window Decoration (KWin) themes

Window Decoration themes have .ktheme format, which is in effect .tar.gz (renamed to .ktheme)

Installation process in KDE 2.1 is pretty simple

Now you can enjoy new theme!

NOTE: you will need KDE 2.1 to install those themes

Fix for KDE 2.1, 2.1.1 bug in KWin/KWM (Sticky button, MaximizeDown)

KDE 2.1 and 2.1.1 (as well as KDE 2.2 alpha1) has problem with displaying Sticked / Unsticked buttons, and MaximizeDown button (you see it when restore to normal size already maximized window)

You will have problem fixed if you followed instructions below. All my themes for version 0.2 release are tuned to be compatible with this hack.

All screenshots were captured with this solution implemented. If you use previous versions of my themes, I strongly recommend you to upgrade to ver.0.2.

Here is a picture of MacBlue theme screenshot (top part of the window) MacBlue theme screenshot. You can compare it with your installed theme and see wether you need this hack. I hope that problem will be solved for upcoming KDE 2.2

QT widget themes (KDE's Style themes)

Instructions below are for Neon widget set (theme), if you have different theme(s) just follow instructions replacing "neon" with "your-theme".

neon.tar.gz archive has two folders - /pixmaps and /themes. You should see files in both those folders, otherwise you have broken download (yes, it happens!).
